Gotcha!

We are in Ethiopia and we have our daughter. It is so surreal! I have to keep telling myself that we are really here and she is really coming home with us. I know you all want to see pictures and I promise they are coming soon.

Our gotcha day was March 4, 2012. We traveled with 5 other families to Hannah's Hope yesterday morning. One family is here for their 1st trip and the rest of us are here to bring home our children.

I am having trouble finding the words to describe how good it was to be reunited with our daughter. I know you all know her as Mia Grace. Her full name is Mia Grace Mestawet Bufkin. Mia Grace was chosen by us and Mestawet is her Ethiopian name. The special mothers at Hannah's Hope call her Mesti and this is what she refers to herself as, so for now she is Mesti to us, too.

Our first day with Mesti was beautiful, heartbreaking, wonderful, and overwhelming all at the same time. I simply feel at AWE with our wonderful God. He is the one who brought us together as a family and I am forever thankful. I am amazed at how perfect she is for our family. She reminds me so much of Jax it is crazy. Those two will be double trouble for sure!!

It was so hard to see how scared she was when we first got to the hotel, but she is really doing well and warming up quickly. She loves to cuddle and I love it, too!! She also loves her new shoes and clothes. She has tried on all of her shoes. She likes to line them up in the closet. She is such a girl!!

So far she is a really good eater and sleeper. I am praying she keeps this up! I am enjoying getting to know our third child so much and I am praising God for this precious time with her.
