Gotcha Day Gifts

When we were in Ethiopia for our court appointment I bought some gifts for Mia from her birth country. I used some things to decorate her room and some I put away for special occasions. I decided to give her this little Ethiopian doll for her first gotcha day at home.
She was happy to pose for pictures with her new doll. She thought Mestawet would be a good name for her doll.
She wanted to dress up in her traditional Ethiopian dress and take some more pics. This girl loves to have her picture taken!!
Here we are showing off our mother/daughter necklaces that I bought us at Created for Care in January. I thought about giving it to her on her gotcha day, but ended up giving it to her early for Valentine's Day. Last year we were apart for Valentines day and I missed her so much. Gen 31:49 is inscribed on the back of the hearts.
It was also called Mizpah, because he said, "May the LORD keep watch between you and me when we are away from each other". Gen 31:49

The Lord certainly did watch out for us when we were apart and I'm so thankful he brought us together.

  2. You are doing a great job sharing her culture with her. I love the traditional dress she is wearing! Very neat with the doll, too.
