My Week In Review: Spring Break Edition

I am linking up with Amy again this week to do my week in review. I have been out of town and away from the computer for a few days, so I'm glad it's not too late to join the fun.
{High}
The high of my week was that the boys and I were off for spring break. We began the week with celebrating Sawyer's fifth birthday. He had an awesome super hero party that I will post about soon.

We had a fun week just hanging out with each other and some fun friends. Thursday I took the boys to super hero story time at the library. They loved it!

Some friends of ours got married this Friday in Shreveport. We decided to go a day early and stay an extra day. We made a mini vacation out of it and had a blast.
Thursday night we ate dinner and ice cream at the boardwalk before spending the night in a hotel.
The boys thought the hotel was awesome. We all stayed up past 10:00 watching Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Pretty exciting Stuff! =)
We also visited the "wildlife" at the Bass Pro Shop, not once, not twice, but three times. Friday night after the wedding we stayed with some of our good friends' in their family's townhouse.
We did a little shopping at the boardwalk. Then we took all the kids to Sciport. The kids had a blast and so did the parents.
Jax's favorite part was building dams. Sawyer really enjoyed making and eating a sun cookie. My favorite part was that we had free tickets!
{Low}
The low of the week is that it went by so fast, as all good weeks do. I had lots of things on my list like cleaning out the boys' closet that I did not get done. I am starting the week with lots of laundry and dirty floors. I guess if I had to miss out on something this week, I am glad it wasn't spending time with my kids and husband.

{Lesson Learned}
Vacations do not have to be elaborate or expensive for us to have a great time. We had so much fun being together and getting away for a couple of days. The kids get excited about little things like eating ice cream and going to visit the "aquarium" a.k.a the big fish tank at Bass Pro Shop. I better enjoy these days while I still can!

  1. I love your lesson learned and that is SO true. The little get aways mean so much to the kids and they are less stressful and less expensive. A win win situation :)

    Thanks for linking up! I hope you have a great week.
    Blessings,
    Amy
